Fishing School
Finding The Fish – Beginner Module
Welcome to the Salt Strong Fishing School!
This is Lesson #1 in the BEGINNER module.
Mobile Users: all 3 modules are found down below the video lessons
Equipment Used In This Video
- Real Shrimp: Texas Rigged Shrimp
- Lure: The Prawn Jr rigged on 1/2 oz Weedless Football Jighead
As mentioned in this lesson, there are often WAY more fish under bridges than most people think.
Here’s a fun video showing exactly how many are down there when a camera is dropped down close to the underwater structure.
Homework
In order to ensure that you can quickly find the best spots to catch fish, make sure to watch this quick lesson that shows a fun homework assignment that’ll result in you have at least 3 great spots to fish the next time you have some open time.
As always, please use the Comments section below if you have any questions… we’re here to help.
Tight Lines!
This is awesome stuff! Looking forward to the rest of the lessons.
Haven’t rigged a shrimp like that before, but I’ll definitely try it out. I need to get J hooks– been using circle for a long time.
How do you rig the prawn jr and the football weedless jig head?
Each rigging product has a detailed tutorial about how to rig it in its respective product page. Here’s a link to the product page for this weedless football jighead (rigging tutorial starts at around the 3 min mark): https://fishstrong.com/collections/terminal-tackle-1/products/hoss-weedless-football-jighead
Awesome stuff!! Just finished my first lesson and it was super informative. I’m more than pumped to put it to use. Going to go find my fishing spots for my upcoming trip down.
Man! I appreciate these videos!
The notable difference between dropping a line anywhere vs knowing where ledges and holes are is outstanding.
This was great information. I hope to use what I’ve learned real soon. Thanks.
I use the navigation every time I fish. Great tool!!
Do you have a pre-beginner course…? I can’t catch a cold! Going to the Bridges on Friday.
I think I’m probably intermediate but i want to start from scratch and learn everything possible. I’ve already done the bridge thing and it works. I’ve caught snook to snapper over my few years of salt water fishing under bridges.
Totally get what you are saying here…… I consider myself intermediate or advanced but that is limited to freshwater in the Midwest. I’m a fish out of water in salt/brackish inshore. But some of the basic info is somewhat remedial. I’m going through the basics regardless…. You can’t ever have too much info and help.
